Steven Behr
President and CEO Appointed as President & CEO of Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts in 2024, Steven Behr has an extensive history in performance and ensemble management. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Violin Performance and Economics, Steven has performed in over 80 countries worldwide as both a soloist and orchestral musician. He has held management roles with many esteemed ensembles, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, and Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, among others. He also serves as a programming consultant to orchestras around the country.

An alumnus and former Concertmaster of the Long Island Youth Orchestra, Steven has served as President and CEO for LIYO since 2017, succeeding LIYO’s founder, Martin Dreiwitz, and most recently organizing tours to Central Europe, Australia, and the South Pacific.

A Long Island native and graduate of Oceanside High School, Mr. Behr has dedicated his career to furthering the musical and social opportunities for future generations of musicians.
