The Nassau Suffolk Honor Band consists of some of the finest seventh and eighth grade musicians from across Long Island, providing them an opportunity to immerse themselves in an advanced concert band setting. Students will broaden their technical, musical and ensemble abilities through rehearsals and performances of a wide variety of concert band literature.

In 2012, the Nassau-Suffolk Honor Band commissioned Richard Saucedo to compose a piece. "The Fives Prevail!" was premiered by the Honor Band in May 2012. The piece was published by Hal Leonard in 2013 and is listed as an "Editor's Choice" on JWPepper.com!
The Nassau-Suffolk Honor Band was selected to perform at the prestigious National Association for Music Education Eastern Division Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which was held in April 2017.
In 2020, the Nassau-Suffolk Honor Band commissioned a work by renowned composer, Randall D. Standridge, entitled “For Ella” in celebration of its tenth anniversary. This remarkable composition was premiered virtually in May 2021.
