Our Mission
Nassau Suffolk Performing Arts is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1994 in order to provide talented student musicians from across Long Island and the metropolitan area with additional rehearsal and performance opportunities in the concert band, jazz band, and vocal jazz genres. We are committed to offering our members a high quality educational and performance-based program that will provide enriching experiences and memories that will foster a lifetime love of music.

The Youth Jazz Band will rehearse on Mondays from 5:00-6:30pm.  Students who wish to will have an opportunity to participate in both the Youth Jazz Band and our other Monday night ensembles the Youth Band (Grades 5 &6) and Honor Band (Grades 7 & 8), which rehearse from 7:00-8:30pm.

The Nassau-Suffolk Spring Concerts will take place on May 7, 2016 at the Madison Theatre at Molloy College. Below, you will find report times and concert dress information for all of our ensembles. It is imperative that you arrive no later than the times listed below. Should you have any questions do not hesitate to contact Zach deVries.

 

Report Times:

2:00pm Concert

Jazz Band                 12:45pm

Youth Band:              1:00pm

 

4:30pm Concert

Honor Band:              3:30pm 

Concert Band:            3:30pm

 

7:30pm Concert

Wind Symphony:       6:00pm

Jazz Ensemble:         7:00pm

 

Youth Band Concert Dress

Girls: Black dress pants or black dress/skirt (must be long enough to drop below the knees) with a black or white top, no jeans, leggings or Uggs.

Boys: Black dress pants, white buttoned down dress shirt with a long tie, black dress socks (no short socks please), and black dress shoes (no sneakers).

 

Honor Band Concert Dress

Girls: All black and dressy, no jeans, leggings or Uggs. Skirts must be to the knee or longer.

Boys: Black dress pants, white buttoned down dress shirt with a long tie, black dress socks (no short socks please), and black dress shoes (no sneakers).

 

Concert Band and Wind Symphony Concert Dress

Ladies: All black and dressy, no jeans, leggings or Uggs. Skirts must be to the knee or longer.

Men: Dark suit or tuxedo, white shirt with bow tie, black dress socks (no short socks please), and black dress shoes (no sneakers).

 

Jazz Ensembles Concert Dress

Please see your directors for specific concert dress information.

 

Important Concert Dress information for all ensembles

In consideration of your fellow musicians please do not wear perfume, cologne, or after shave on the day of the concerts.

All current members of Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts  must re-audition for next season. Please schedule an audition appointment through the link on our website.  

We encourage all students currently in grades 4-11 to schedule an audition for the 2015-2016 Season!


5/7 Concert Time Changes

Please note that the 1:30 concert time has been changed to 2:00pm & the 4:00 concert has been changed to 4:30 pm.  The Jazz Band will perform with the Youth Band on the 2:00 concert.
