Our Mission
Nassau Suffolk Performing Arts is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1994 in order to provide talented student musicians from across Long Island and the metropolitan area with additional rehearsal and performance opportunities in the concert band, jazz band, and vocal jazz genres. We are committed to offering our members a high quality educational and performance-based program that will provide enriching experiences and memories that will foster a lifetime love of music.
Auditions

Honor Band, Youth Band and Instrumental Jazz audition dates have concluded.  We may hold limited auditions in the future for any openings that may occur.  Please email us at attendance@nassausuffolk.org if you would like to be contacted to schedule an audition.  Be sure to include your name, phone number, instrument, NYSSMA level and current grade.

Vocal Jazz and Symphonic (grade 9-12) auditions are currently being scheduled for the 2014-2015 Season of Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts. Please visit the links in the left column of this page to find more information on audition requirements and how to sign up for an audition.

Important Policy Reminders

Just a few reminders regarding the Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts policies:

 

1. All members must register for members' email. The link can be found at the bottom left corner of our homepage. We communicate via email and it is your responsibility to check your email account.

 

2. SENIOR ENSEMBLES: All absences must be reported to Mrs. Korn, the Assistant Director. Speaking to your conductor about an upcoming absence is not official notification.  The appropriate absence notification form can be found at nassausuffolk.org. This form can be faxed to 516 538-2787, e-mailed to attendance@nassausuffolk.org or mailed to the address below.

 

JUNIOR ENSEMBLES: All absences must be reported to Mr. deVries, the Ensembles Manager. Speaking to your conductor about an upcoming absence is not official notification.  The appropriate absence notification form can be found at nassausuffolk.org. This form can be faxed to 516 538-2787 e-mailed to manager@nassausuffolk.org or mailed to the address below.

Please use phone notification only for an unexpected or unplanned absence such as illness. UNREPORTED ABSENCES WILL NOT BE EXCUSED.

 

3. Seating audition information, changes in rehearsal schedule/location, weather related cancellations, and conductor comments will be sent via email and posted at nassausuffolk.org. Remember to check your email and monitor the NSPA homepage.

 

4. WIND SYMPHONY, CONCERT BAND, HONOR BAND and YOUTH BAND MEMBERS MUST SIGN IN UPON ARRIVAL. You will be charged an absence if you have not signed in. Arrival after the downbeat will be considered a half absence. You have only two discretionary absences per concert period. School musical commitments are excused absences only if submitted on the appropriate form.
